It’s a mouthful of a mission statement. But our yearly spiff is based on the number of commas, appositives and random prepositions we can use (we also aim to have a sense of humor, too)
There are lots of trades that cover the media business. And many of them do a great job (and the rest of you know who you are, right? :>)
We hope to be different. MediaNewsAndViews is content from the media community and the general public about the media industry. It’s about research findings that are interesting. And analysis which is informative, and not just based on one journalist getting a press release and contacting all of the Usual Sources to get comments on a trend that only benefits a vendor, The Agency POV, or a particular media seller.
And it’s about having a little bit of fun. Everyone says this isn’t brain surgery. It’s time that we stop writing about it as if it were!
